How to apply eye shadow?

Let's start with the basics (but better say it): eye shadow goes on before you draw your eyeliner line, before you apply your mascara, your lipstick and even before your foundation to avoid to have dust under the eye and to have to remove it with a make-up remover (and therefore to start applying your foundation again).

Start by wiping your eyelids with a tissue to absorb moisture from the skin and apply a base to ensure that your eyeshadow lasts longer.

Using a flat brush, apply the shadow of the color of your choice on the eyelid at the level of the eyelashes, starting from the inner corner of the eye and going towards the outer corner. If you want to use several colors of eye shadows to make a gradient or a smoky eyes, start with the lightest color until the most founded.

Use a soft brush with a little beige shadow to blend and blur the outline of your eye makeup.

What eyeshadow colors to choose?

Make up the eyes must be done according to their color and their shape (round eyes, almond eyes…) that you can accentuate or on the contrary attenuate. For brown eyes, warm colors are to be preferred: khaki, taupe, gold, purple, beige, bronze, brown, black... We avoid makeup with pastel colors, especially if you have dark skin (on the other hand you can try iridescent and flashy eyeshadows).

Black eyes can afford everything for an intense look except colors that are too light. Hazel eyes and green eyes will be enhanced by colors approaching red: purple, mauve, pink, plum... Avoid green and blue, too close to the color of your iris.

For blue eyes, choose brown or peach shades for doe eyes and to make your iris stand out. You can also try purple, coral and pink but avoid tone-on-tone blue.
